I am a professional translator based in Chile who has been working full-time in the English to Spanish language pair for about 5 years now. More recently, I started working occasionally in the Portuguese to Spanish language pair.

After receiving my diploma in 2005 from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaiso, I started working in-house for one of the most renowned locally-based LSPs.

Since then, I have never stopped translating and building an ever exciting career.

Even before getting my diploma, I began gaining working experience —which now amounts to almost 8 years— in international businesses including a shipping company and a legal publisher.

The most recent in-house position I occupied was in a major news and business intelligence service for the Latin American market.

My professional experience ranges from translating simple and complex documents in various formats and under different platforms to localizing and testing software and websites. It also includes proofreading & editing translations and checking the quality of the final product.

The pursuit of excellence

Today, I am a self-taught student of French and German with a view to broaden my language services to more language pairs. Also (reverse) Spanish to English and Portuguese to Spanish are on the horizon, as well as my involvement in full-time Health Sciences translation.

In the quest for improving my productivity, I am continuously developing knowledge and capabilities in several Computer Assisted Translation and word processing tools, as well as devices such as search engines, macros and regular expressions.
