Background
I have lived and worked in Italy, in Portugal, in the US and now I am living in the UK. These experiences have turned me into an open-minded person, sensitive to cultural differences and to the way these are expressed in language.

- Master's degree in Literary Studies, Leiden University
- Three years of university education in Italian language and literature
- Three years of university education in Dutch language and literature


Professional experience
I have been working as a freelance translator since 2006.
During my studies I have worked in restaurants in both the Netherlands and in Italy, I have also worked as an in-house translator at an Italian food company, where I translated many recipes, ingredients, product descriptions and other food-related texts.
From 2007 until 2010 I was a writer for the Dutch company Letter on Demand (briefopbestelling.nl/letterondemand.co.uk). This job has helped me to develop my writing skills, and as a consequence this has improved the quality of my translations. Translation is not only about having good knowledge of foreign languages, but it also has a lot to do with mastering your own native language. I love my language, I am a good translator and writer, and I am very dedicated to my job.
