I am a freelance translator, interpreter and proofreader for German and English. I have 5 years experience in translating and proofreading business, marketing and travel related material, brochures, legal documents and certificates, questionnaires and general correspondence. I have interpreted in court, for the police, the council, at job centres and at business or private meetings.

I successfully passed the DPSI (Diploma in Public Service Interpreting) in 2005. I received a distinction in translation from English to German and German to English and a merit in sight translation. I became a Registered Public Service Interpreter in June 2006.

Since May 2009 I have held the IoLET Diploma in Translation, having passed the exam on the first attempt. My specialised subjects were business and law. Furthermore, I am an Associate of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting and I strictly abide by their Code of Conduct .

I have previously worked in sales, market research and account management and I have four years' experience in these fields.

In my spare time I am a big fan of the great outdoors and also a keen cook. Originally I am from Austria; however, having lived in the UK for more than seven years with my lovely British husband, I can confidently say that I feel truly at home in both cultures.
