Habe nun, ach! Philosophie,
Juristerei und Medizin,
Und leider auch Theologie
Durchaus studiert, mit heißem Bemühn.
Da steh ich nun, ich armer Tor!

Zwar bin ich gescheiter als all die Laffen,
Doktoren, Magister, Schreiber und Pfaffen;
Mich plagen keine Skrupel noch Zweifel,
Fürchte mich weder vor Hölle noch Teufel .

Giurisprudenza e filosofia,
medicina e purtroppo teologia
ho studiato con tutto l'ardor che ci sia.
Ed eccomi qui arrivato in cima
E ne so tanto quanto prima.
Dottore e maestro vengo chiamato
E quasi un decennio è già passato.
Gli studenti per il naso li meno sempre più
Diritto e di traverso, di su e di giù.
Ma so che noi non possiam saper niente
