I am a certified freelance Spanish-to-English translator who resides in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. I hold over 12 years of experience in the language services industry and provide a wide variety of translation, editing, proofreading, and review services in many different subject areas to high-profile direct clients and end clients in both the public and private sectors.
I'm now certified by the American Translators Association (ATA) in Spanish-to-English translation. I've also been accredited by the Atlanta Association of Interpreters & Translators (AAIT) since March 2007. My first certification was from Georgetown University (Certificate of Proficiency in Translation from Spanish to English) in 1996.
I was an editor at a Washington publishing firm before becoming a translator. My professional editing and proofreading background ensures that you get polished, publication-quality work that requires virtually no post-editing.
I have also worked as a legal assistant for various law firms, assisting with drafting, editing, proofing and/or translating various types of documents, so I can handle your legal translation projects with ease, accuracy, and expertise.
I hold an Intermediate Certification in Wines and Spirits from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) of England, so I welcome your wine translation projects as well.
EDUCATION:
-- B.A. in Spanish and B.A. in International Studies from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, 1994. (I didn't just double major, I actually got two B.A. degrees.) During my undergrad studies I completed a Congressional internship with the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee as well as extended periods of time in Madrid, Spain and Paris, France.
-- Many continuing education seminars on topics like legal terminology, the business of translation, CAT tools, etc. to stay on top of trends in the industry and serve my clients as effectively as I can.

Interests include art, music (I sing and am a classical pianist), photography, cooking, travel, writing, and gardening - all of which have come in handy during translation projects at one point or another.
My typing speed is 90+ wpm on a bad hair day, which helps me get through obnoxiously large files in a comparatively short length of time without compromising the quality of my work.
I look forward to discussing your translation projects with you today! | This user has earned KudoZ points by helping other translators with PRO-level terms. Click point total(s) to see term translations provided.
