Experience

I have 10 years of full time professional experience in translating IT, technical and medical documents.

A very large part of my work is on manuals and software localization.

Some of the work I have done is on:

• Computer manuals (desktop and laptops)


• Software manuals (antivirus/firewall suite, antispyware suite, HRM suite, OS, various applications)


• Software localization (security suites, operating systems, CD/DVD burning suites, help files, drivers)


• Game localization (FPS, racing, RPG, children’s’ games for PSP, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, PC, Wii)


• IT user manuals (projectors, monitors, graphics cards, adaptors, keyboards/ mice, Bluetooth dongles, routers/modems, printers and training materials, etc)


• Consumer electronics manuals (DVD players, air conditioners, LCD TVs, stereos, bread makers, fridges, microwave ovens, etc)


• Automotive manuals (user guides, technical instructions for service centers)

Quality Assurance

I follow a QA process which I have developed, based on the DIN 2345 guidelines. My goal is to ensure that every translation I deliver is of the highest standard and that my clients are happy with my work.


Some of the steps in this process are:

• Ensure completeness of the translation


• Check the spelling and grammar


• Check technical and terminological correctness


• Translation covers the client's demands, in all aspects

Qualifications

I hold the following two degrees:

• MSc in Scientific, Technical and Medical Translation with Translation Technology with a specialization in the English to Greek language pair from Imperial College, London, UK
• BSc Honours in Computer Science from the University of Cardiff, UK

I am a member of that American Translators Association and have been a member of Proz since 2002.
