Dear Sir/madam,
I am a freelance translator working with the language pair English > Brazilian Portuguese and I would like to introduce myself.
My name is Felipe Eduardo Jendrysiak and I was born and educated in Brazil. I studied and worked in the UK between 2003-2006. I have since returned to Rio de Janeiro where I currently work full-time as a translator.
I have been working as a translator since 2006 when I passed the CIoL Diploma in Translation (with a Merit grade). I have specialised in technical and IT translations and I have particular experience in the areas of telecommunications and education. I also translate general commercial and marketing texts.
I have worked with texts for many years. I studied journalism at the University of Rio de Janeiro and went on to work for several years at a radio news station in Brazil. This position involved the sourcing, writing and editing of news items - skills which have since proven useful as a translator.
In addition to translation, I provide editing, re-writing and proofreading services for texts written in Portuguese. I also offer transcription and/or translation of audio materials.
I am disciplined, accurate and reliable (I never miss a deadline) and I pride myself on the quality of my work.
I use translation memory software where necessary to complete projects and I have an extensive reference library of paper-based and electronic dictionaries and specialised glossaries.
