Source text - English SUMMARY
This essay presents a historical record concerning the development of the Public Policies on Health Care in Brazil as from the 20th Century up to the date. This essay deals particularly with the Federal Constitution of 1988, the SUS (Unique System of Health), as well as the programs on Public Health, it also distinguishes the major changes that have occurred throughout the duration of the process of construction of SUS. The methodology adopted was the revision of literature by searching in books and periodic publications by using literary compositions as some web sites. We aimed to present a synthesis of articles which have been considered as indispensable elements about Public Policies on Health Care in Brazil. Based on the knowledge of the historical records of public health we have reached a larger as well as critical vision concerning the health problems of the population. This led as to conclude the necessity of running people in separate and in group with fundamental principles that give directions to a new strategy on health that fit to a different reality. Having this larger vision we are able to plan more effectively and more resolutely and as a result we are able to encourage better quality of life and citizenship.

Este estudo apresenta um histórico processual da evolução das Políticas Públicas de Saúde no Brasil a partir do Século XX até os dias atuais, abordando especificamente a Constituição Federal de 1988, o SUS e os programas de saúde pública, pontuando as principais mudanças ocorridas durante o processo de construção do SUS. Adotou-se como metodologia a revisão de literatura, através de buscas em livros e publicações periódicas, utilizando acervos de bibliotecas e páginas de web sites, visando apresentar uma síntese de contribuições que se julgou essencial para o debate sobre as políticas públicas de saúde no Brasil. A partir do entendimento do histórico processual da saúde pública obteve-se uma visão ampliada e crítica dos problemas de saúde da população, que apontou a necessidade de trabalhar o individuo e a coletividade com bases que orientam a formulação de novas estratégias de saúde que se adequem as diferentes realidades. Com essa visão ampliada, pode-se planejar a atenção à saúde com mais efetividade e resolutividade e conseqüentemente promover qualidade de vida e cidadania.

Source text - English A new business task force was created Tuesday by Prime Minister Julia Gillard to specifically address the problems of the business sectors affected by the devastating floods in Queensland.
The Prime Minister has announced the Australian Government will immediately establish a Business Taskforce to support Queenslanders in the immediate recovery effort.
The Business Taskforce will bring together ten Australian business leaders from a range of industries to mobilise business efforts across Australia.
The focus will be on:
• Leveraging corporate donations of dollars
• Helping drive and coordinate in-kind donations
• Using Australia's best business expertise to help with business recovery and rebuilding efforts in Queensland.
The Taskforce will be chaired by the Federal Treasurer and will meet with the Prime Minister for the first time next week.
The support pouring in from across Australia for people affected by the Queensland floods has been amazing - but Queensland is going to need much, much more in the coming months.
It is important to ensure that business support is marshaled effectively to ensure it gets to the areas and people who need it most, as well as to make sure that the resources being provided are useful and appropriate.
The Taskforce will be established for three months initially, with its ongoing operation to be reviewed at that time.
The Taskforce will play no role in directing government funding or managing the government's response to the floods disaster. Instead, it will play the important role of helping to drive the involvement of a key sector of Australia in supporting Queensland at this difficult time.
