A native of Vietnam, I am a freelance translator/interpreter in English-Vietnamese-English. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Government & Business from the University of Dalat, Viet-Nam and I later earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota, USA. I worked in the healthcare sector, specifically, medical devices and equipment and also did chemical support for industrial and technology companies. With both a Vietnamese and U.S. education and over 20 years of professional experience in the United States, I am not only fluent in both languages but can also understand the culture and meaning behind the words, which is vital to accurate translations and interpretations.

My qualifications and experience:

Qualifications from a leading language service provider: Language Proficiency assessment, Medical Terminology test, Interpreter Medical Ethics test.

I currently participate in the Spoken Language Interpreter Roster of MN Department of Health after completing and passing the test of 40 hour workshop Bridging The Gap Professional Medical Interpreter workshop.

I am registered as a Legal Vietnamese/English in the Roster of Minnesota State Court Interpreter after passing the Court Interpreter Ethics Test 5.1 and completed the two-day Orientation Program for Court Interpreters.

I have experience in face-to face and over-the-phone Vietnamese-English medical and legal interpretation and have also translated documents. Participated in voiceover projects.

I am highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Statistics.
