As part of the XXXX Project, seven design teams have been working on a variety of critical tasks, including drafting organization charts. The design teams’ recommendations, which benefited from considerable input from employees throughout NA, have now been reviewed and modified by the XX Leadership Board and we now have a clearer picture of the number of positions needed in the new organization.
The PowerPoint presentation showing the positions in the new organization that was used in today’s employee meeting is now posted on XXXX and can be accessed by clicking on the link below:
The staffing of the new organization will be consistent with ever-increasing demands for improved efficiency and flexibility. The staffing process, as described by Mrs. XXXX in today’s employee meeting, includes a self-nomination component. A summary of the staffing process is included in the PowerPoint presentation mentioned above.
We recognize that a number of employees are currently eligible to retire on an unreduced basis, that certain of these employees may wish to retire rather than participate in the selection process for staffing the redesigned XXXX business, and that to the extent employees do wish to retire, the Company needs to take steps to try and ensure effective transition and protect business continuity. For that reason, before we begin the process of staffing the new organization, we are offering a voluntary severance program under which employees in North America working in all businesses currently eligible to retire on an unreduced basis, and those who will become eligible for an unreduced pension as of December 31, 2006, may retire and receive a severance payment. | Translation - French

Employment Tribunals hear claims about matters to do with employment. These include unfair dismissal, redundancy payments and discrimination. Employment Tribunals also deal with a range of claims relating to wages and other payments. You can get a full list, called a jurisdiction list, from your local tribunal office or the Employment Tribunals public enquiry line.
You only need to fill in this section if you are complaining that you have been discriminated against. Discrimination can take place on the grounds of sex (this includes complaints regarding equal pay and about pregnancy and maternity issues), race, sexual orientation, religion or belief or for a reason related to a disability. Discrimination laws cover all areas of employment including recruitment, training, promotion and dismissal. They also cover victimisation.

Palermo is a forgotten gem. After years of mafia rule and poverty, the city has reclaimed its place among Europe’s cultural cities. Palermo is full of sights and treasures, from baroque churches to modern Sicilian restaurants.
The city
The Phoenicians founded Palermo as a trade port in 700 B.C., and a long string of rulers followed. Carthage was the first to conquer it, followed by the Romans, who named it Panhormus. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the Vandals took over, followed by Arabian rulers who turned Sicily in to an emirate. Palermo transformed in to a magical city with mosques, minarets and markets. It is said that its beauty measured up well with Cordoba and Cairo.
During the crusades the city’s wealth was discovered by the Normans who conquered the city, but continued building on the Arabian legacy of tolerance and enlightenment. That era is known as “the golden years.
Today tourists are discovering a city with an exciting mix of medieval areas where washing is still hung on lines between buildings; to elegant residential districts with palm trees and palatial villas. And then there’s also the city’s intense markets.

Thanks to its rich and varied history, Palermo and its surrounding areas are full of architectural treasures. There is a Norman cathedral, several baroque churches, opulent palaces, Doric temples and converted mosques – just to name a few.

La cité
Les Phéniciens fondent le port de Palerme en 700 av. J.-C. et la cité connaît ensuite une succession d’invasions. Les Normands découvrent la prospérité de la cité au moment des Croisades et en prennent le contrôle, tout en préservant la culture de tolérance et d’illumination héritée du monde arabe. Cette période est appelée « l’Âge d’Or ».
Aujourd’hui, la ville révèle au touriste tout un ensemble de quartiers médiévaux passionnants à découvrir, où l’on étend encore le linge entre deux maisons, mais aussi d’élégantes zones résidentielles implantées de palmiers et de prestigieuses villas. Sans oublier les marchés de la ville, hauts en couleur.
À faire et à voir
Témoins d’une histoire riche et diversifiée, Palerme et ses environs regorgent de trésors architecturaux. On y trouve, entre autres, une cathédrale normande, plusieurs églises baroques, de fastueux palais, des temples doriques et des mosquées reconverties.
