Spanish being his first language, one can only imagine the cultural and linguistic challenges he faced when, at the age of eight, his father suddenly relocated his family back to Japan. In a classic “sink or swim” scenario, Yoshi was thrown into the “pool” of international students enrolled at the highly respected international school in Kobe, where he persevered and graduated having mastered both Japanese and English.
After completing his education in Kobe, Yoshi felt confident enough with his English to move to the United States and enrolled in an accredited American University in California, where he graduated with a BA degree in advertising. Following his graduation, he remained in California for two additional years working as a licensing assistant for an acclaimed Japanese animation company before returning to Japan to reacquaint himself with his family and his Japanese cultural heritage. |
