I have a first class BSc (Hons) in physics from the University of Kent and a PhD in physics from UMIST. I spent a study year in Germany during my degree course and later lived in Germany for 10 years, working first as a software developer and subsequently as a technical translator.
I have over three years' solid experience in technical translation as well as a growing portfolio of satisfied repeat customers. Since I started freelance translating in December 2005, I have successfully completed a large number of commercial translation assignments on topics ranging from heat exchangers and plastic piping to hi-tech apparel.
Machinery maintenance and operating manuals, project requirement specifications and technical articles, especially in the field of IT, provide the bulk of my work. However, I also enjoy translating other specialist documentation, such as, for example, informational communications like this INFO Mail for ORGAINVENT, the leading German beef labelling organisation.
No job is too big or too small for me; my translation experience ranges all the way from entire product catalogues down to short email messages. I look forward to the chance to work with you. | This user has earned KudoZ points by helping other translators with PRO-level terms. Click point total(s) to see term translations provided.
