Motor Operating Conditions
Elevated surface temperature is an indication of overload or potential failure of bearings or other mechanical components that may create an ignition source.
Starter maximum surface temperature was measured at 70°C with an ambient temperature of 21°C.
This measurement was made with the starter operating through (10) consecutive cranking cycles, (One crank cycle consists of 3.5 seconds of loaded crank, 3.5 seconds of starter overrun, then a 60 second rest period, with measurements taken immediately after the final crank cycle.), at 150 psig (10.3 bar/1030 kPa) air pressure measured at the inlet.
It is recommended that the maximum expected surface temperature (Tmax) of the entire completed starter / engine combination, into which the starter is incorporated, be measured and used for the ATEX marking requirement and Certificate of Conformance.
Maximum bearing temperatures should not exceed 60°C for an extended length of time.
Starter bearings and housing temperatures should be monitored during starter operation for unusually high operating temperatures.
Elevated vibration levels are an indication of imbalance or potential failure of bearings or other mechanical components that may create an ignition source.
Normal acceptable vibration levels during operation should be measured and stated for the completed starter / engine combination.
If elevated temperatures or elevated vibration levels are detected, discontinue use of the starter until it can be inspected and / or repaired.
Operation
Air pressure above rated pressure on starter serial number plate, located on the starter housing may result in a source of ignition caused by premature failure of bearings or other components due to excessive speed, output torque, or force.
Maintenance
Prior to any maintenance being performed on the starter, removal from the engine is mandatory.
Proper lubrication and maintenance are required to prevent premature failure of the starter and its component parts that may create an ignition source. Follow the recommendations in the Lubrication and Maintenance sections of the Operation and Maintenance manual supplied with the starter. Повышенная температура поверхности свидетельствует о перегрузке или возможной неисправности подшипников или других деталей, что может послужить причиной возникновения пожара.
При измерении максимальная температура поверхности стартера составила 70°C при температуре окружающей среды 21°C.

Повышенный уровень вибраций свидетельствует о несбалансированности или возможной неисправности подшипников или других деталей, что может послужить причиной возгорания.
Для собранного узла стартер / двигатель должен быть измерен и указан предельно допустимый при работе уровень вибраций.
При обнаружении повышенной температуры или уровня вибраций не используйте стартер до тех пор, пока он не будет осмотрен и/или починен.
Эксплуатация
Рабочее давление воздуха указано на пластинке с серийным номером, которая закреплена на корпусе стартера. Превышение указанного давления может привести к увеличению скорости, усилия или крутящего момента на валу, и как следствие, преждевременному выходу из строя подшипников или других деталей.
Техническое обслуживание
Прежде чем выполнять любые действия, связанные с техническим обслуживанием стартера, его следует обязательно снять с двигателя.
Чтобы не допустить преждевременной поломки стартера и его деталей, и этим не создать пожароопасную ситуацию, следует должным образом проводить его техническое обслуживание и смазывание. Стартер поставляется в комплекте с инструкцией по эксплуатации. Придерживайтесь рекомендаций по смазыванию и техническому уходу, которые изложены в разделах «Смазывание» и «Техническое обслуживание».
