As a freelance translator, I bring experience amassed over 25 years as a BBC in-house translator. I worked from Russian, French and Francophone African audiovisual sources, covering a vast range of topics. I can provide transcriptions from both Russian and French. I am very much at ease writing journalistic copy.

I have extensive experience of editing and proof-reading translations and am particularly aware of the pitfalls awaiting non-native speakers. I produce highly readable contemporary English. I am very much aware of the need to translate into a register appropriate to the text.

I am also familiar with summarizing documents, whether combining several texts into one or paring a lengthy text down to its essentials.
