Gareth Moore is a hunter and collector. Always on the lookout for objects that have been cast aside, Moore recycles the detritus of our disposable society by relocating his discoveries in new contexts. Alienating objects and materials from their original functions, Moore's art practice opens them to new interpretations. Undaunted by novelty, Moore delights in engaging with the cultural contexts he encounters on his expeditions to find new materials, which have taken him to remote countries and far-away places. For Uncertain Pilgrimage (2006/2007) Moore set out on a journey into the unknown without a credit card, cash, or any idea of his actual location, somehow managing to return to the opening of his exhibition some months later at the CCA Wattis Institute of Contemporary Art in San Francisco (2008). Wie finden Menschen zu ihrem eigenen Selbst? George Herbert Mead, Erik H. Erikson und Erving Goffman sehen darin einen Lernprozess nach vier Dimensionen:
Identität als Prozess lebenslangen Lernens: Identität besitzt man nicht, sondern man sucht und entfaltet sie, ein Leben lang. Wer seine Identität aus nur aus dem Eigenen ableitet, folgt einem pathogenen Konzept, das eine weitere Entwicklung behindert. Vielmehr wird diese durch Krisen angestoßen, die darin bestehen, früher erreichte Stufen zu überwinden. So wird das Lernen von Identität zum einem integralen Teil des eigenen Lebens.
Identität als Interaktion und Beziehung: Identität findet kein Mensch allein, sondern entdeckt sie in Interaktion mit anderen. Identity as a process of lifelong learning: identity is not something that we possess; in-stead we pursue and cultivate our identities throughout our lives. Deriving identity solely from within the domain of the Self is a pathogenic approach that hinders development. The evolution of identity is, in fact, driven by the crises that we experience as we overcome earlier developmental stages. Within this process learning identity becomes an integral part of our lives.
Identity as the product of interactions and relationships: we do not discover our identities on our own; instead we discover ourselves through and within our interactions with others. It is through interaction and the resulting feedback that we come to recognise who we might be. Young people, for instance, need to leave their families and enter into new relationships to find their identities.

Internationale Interventionen stehen immer wieder im Mittelpunkt der öffentlichen Kritik. Inwieweit darf bzw. inwieweit sollte die internationale Gemeinschaft in Krisenregionen eingreifen? Was wiegt mehr, der Schutz der Menschenrechte und die Verhinderung einer humanitären Katastrophe, wie z.B. jener in Ruanda 1994 oder aktuell in Darfur, oder die Achtung staatlicher Souveränität? Und werden humanitäre oder ähnliche Gründe beispielsweise von den USA nicht oft nur vorgeschoben, um eigene wirtschaftliche oder militärische Interessen durchzusetzen?
Gerade mit dieser letzten Frage hatte XXX sich auseinanderzusetzen, als XXX im Sicherheitsrat über ein Eingreifen im Irak beraten wurde. Damals vertrat er die ablehnende Haltung Deutschlands zum Irak-Krieg. Sein Vortrag wird Fragen, die internationale Interventionen immer wieder aufwerfen, kritisch beleuchten und gleichzeitig interessante Einblicke in die „Welt der Vereinten Nationen“ geben.
Zu der Veranstaltung, die an der Universität XXX stattfindet, ist die Öffentlichkeit herzlich eingeladen.

1997 fiel in Russland der Startschuss für das Fortbildungsprogramm für Führungskräfte der russischen Wirtschaft. Deutschland war von den ersten Tagen der Realisierung des sogenannten Präsidentenprogramms dabei und wurde zu Russlands wichtigstem ausländischen Partner, indem es Unternehmenspraktika für russische Führungskräfte anbot. InWEnt wurde als Generalmanager des deutschen Beitrags ernannt. Seither nahmen über 4.200 russische Führungs- und Führungsnachwuchskräfte am Fortbildungsprogramm teil.
Der Erfolg des russischen Präsidentenprogramms hat andere GUS-Staaten dazu bewegt, ähnliche Programme ins Leben zu rufen. Den Anfang machte 2001 die so genannte "Ukrainische Initiative". Später kamen weitere osteuropäische Länder wie Belarus und die Republik Moldau hinzu, bis das Managerfortbildungsprogramm schließlich auch auf Länder Zentralasiens und Asiens ausgeweitet wurde – darunter Usbekistan, Kirgisien, Turkmenistan, Aserbaidschan oder die Mongolei. Gerade Wachstumsmärkte wie Kasachstan, China, Indien und Vietnam haben ein reges Interesse an einem Austausch mit Deutschland und sind daher ebenfalls Partner in der Managerfortbildung.
Das Programm hat viele Gewinner. Auch für die deutschen Unternehmen zahlt sich ihr Engagement aus. Sie lernen potentielle Partner über mehrere Wochen kennen, bauen ein Vertrauensverhältnis auf, das bei Geschäften erforderlich ist. Die Entsendeunternehmen wiederum profitieren von den aus Deutschland mitgebrachten Kontakten und den neu erworbenen Management-Skills ihres Mitarbeiters. Im Ergebnis erhöht sich der wirtschaftliche Austausch zwischen Deutschland und den Partnerländern.

The inaugural management training programme for Russian managers was launched in Russia in 1997. Germany has backed the implementation of the so-called "President’s Programme" from the outset, emerging as Russia's most important foreign partner by offering in-company training placements to Russian managers. Over 4200 managers and management trainees have participated in the programme since InWEnt was assigned to the role of General Manager.
The success of the Russian President’s Programme has encouraged other CIS nations to launch similar projects. The first of these, the so-called "Ukrainian Initiative", was established in 2001. Other Eastern European countries soon followed, including the republics of Belarus and Moldova, and the manager training programme has since been extended across Central and Eastern Asia – including Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Mongolia. Growth markets such as Kazakhstan, China, India and Vietnam are particularly keen to strengthen their ties with Germany, and have also become partners to the manager training programme.
There are many winners in this success story. The programme enables German companies to engage with potential partners for several weeks at a time, and provides an ideal framework to build the mutual trust that is key to business. Managers seconded to Germany have the opportunity to make new business contacts and expand their leadership skills – all to the benefit of their organizations. The programme's overall effect is to expand and strengthen business ties between Germany and the international partners.
