Shooting in S Mode (Shutter-Priority Auto)
In shutter-priority auto mode, you choose the shutter speed while the camera
automatically selects the aperture that will produce the optimal exposure. Use slow
shutter speeds to suggest motion by blurring moving subjects, high shutter speeds to
“freeze” motion.
1 Rotate the mode dial to S.
2 Rotate the command dial to choose the desired
speed.
Shutter speed displayed in the viewfinder will change.
Set shutter speed to the desired value between 1/4000s and 30 s.
Shutter speed can also be displayed in the Shooting information display by pressing K.
3 Frame a photograph, focus, and shoot.
Shutter Speed and Camera Shake
To reduce or prevent blur caused by camera shake, the shutter speed should be faster than the
inverse of lens focal length in seconds. For example, when using a lens with a focal length of
300mm, choose a shutter speed faster than 1/300 s. A tripod is recommended when shooting at
slower shutter speeds. To reduce blur, try increasing shutter speed by increasing ISO sensitivity, using the built-in flash or an optional Speedlight, or by mounting the camera on a tripod, or using a vibration reduction lens.
Shooting in A Mode (Aperture-Priority Auto)
In aperture-priority auto mode, you choose the aperture while the camera automatically
selects the shutter speed that will produce the optimal exposure. Small apertures (high
f-numbers) increase depth of field, bringing both the main subject and background into
focus. Large apertures (low f-numbers) soften background details.
1 Rotate the mode dial to A.
2 Rotate the command dial to choose the desired
aperture.
Aperture displayed in the viewfinder will change. Set aperture to the desired value.
The minimum and maximum apertures available vary depending upon the lens.
Aperture can also be displayed in the Shooting
information display by pressing K.
3 Frame a photograph, focus, and shoot.
Long Time-Exposures
Shutter speeds of “Bulb” and “Time” can be used for long time-exposure
moving lights, the stars, night scenery, or fireworks. To prevent blurring
shake, use a tripod or an optional Wireless Remote Control XX.

Utilizzando tempi di posa brevi è possibile dare l’impressione del movimento degli oggetti con
un effetto “mosso”; invece con tempi lunghi è possibile “fermare” il movimento.

2 Ruotare la ghiera di comando per scegliere il tempo di posa desiderato.
L’indicazione del tempo di posa nel mirino varierà di conseguenza. Per impostare il tempo di posa, è possibile scegliere un valore compreso tra 1/4.000 di secondo e 30 sec.
Il tempo di posa può essere visualizzato anche nel display dei dati di ripresa premendo K.
3 Inquadrare, mettere a fuoco e scattare.
Tempi di posa ed effetto “mosso”
Per ridurre o evitare l’effetto “mosso” dovuto al movimento della fotocamera, il tempo di posa impostato deve essere minore del reciproco della lunghezza focale dell’obiettivo, espresso in secondi. Ad esempio, se si utilizza un obiettivo con lunghezza focale 300 mm, occorre impostare un tempo di posa inferiore a 1/300 di secondo. Per fotografare con tempi di posa più lunghi è consigliato l’uso di un cavalletto. Per ridurre l’effetto mosso, si possono adottare i seguenti accorgimenti: provare ad aumentare il tempo di posa aumentando la sensibilità ISO, utilizzare il flash incorporato o un lampeggiatore opzionale, montare la fotocamera su un cavalletto o utilizzare un obiettivo con funzione di riduzione vibrazioni

Nel modo Auto a priorità dei diaframmi, l’utente seleziona l’apertura, dopodiché la fotocamera
imposta automaticamente il tempo di posa per garantire un’esposizione ottimale. Con i
diaframmi chiusi (numeri f/ elevati) si ottiene un aumento della profondità di campo, portando
a fuoco sia il soggetto principale che lo sfondo. Invece, con i diaframmi aperti (numeri f/ bassi)
si ottengono sfondi più sfumati.

l’apertura desiderata.
L’indicazione dell’apertura nel mirino varierà di
conseguenza. Impostare il valore di apertura desiderato.

Esposizioni lunghe
Scegliendo la “posa B” (indicazione "bulb") o “posa T” (indicazione "time") durante l’impostazione del tempo di posa, è possibile effettuare esposizioni lunghe per fotografare luci in movimento, stelle, paesaggi in notturna o fuochi d’artificio. Per prevenire l’effetto mosso dovuto al movimento della fotocamera, è consigliato l’uso di un cavalletto o di un telecomando opzionale XX.
