Just because a phrase "sounds right" does not mean that its true meaning has been conveyed.
Too many "standard" translations fail to accurately capture the most appropriate terms and grammatical structure when rendered in another language.

A good translator must be very much aware and almost intimately familiar with both languages in order to decide which terms are most appropriate; he/she must be able to convey not only the meaning of the phrase but also try to capture the subtle nuances contained in the original text.
In plain English, a house is not the same thing as a home; this is why "accuracy matters"

To overcome the language "barrier" I rely on my experience growing up and studying languages in Italy, (where among other things I was an anchor woman and live interpreter for a local TV station), and marry it with my 20+ years living and working in the United States.

I specialise in business, finance, marketing, general law (contracts, certificates), travel and fashion translations, but I am also experienced in medical, computer, general engineering, culinary, and art.

What you can expect as far as the "dreaded" rates?

All of my rates are quoted in Euros, as the majority of my Clients are in Europe. If you are based in the US or in a continent other than Europe, please contact me for a quote. The fee is normally calculated based upon source word count. I do charge for "repetitions" and "fuzzy" unless you provide a TM (Wordfast compatible). Please don't ask about "volume discounts"..why? I can't begin to tell you how many times I've been given estimates of 30K words/year and got 10K instead, besides, my hourly output does not change or increase in tandem with the volume.

My goal is simple: offer the best service at the best price.
When submitting a Quote request, please include a couple of lines of the text to be translated, the volume of the job,which format it will be sent as and which one you would like to receive it back as.
Most importantly, please indicate your desired consignment date so that I may give you a timely and accurate quote.

Keeping my prices very affordable is closely tied to being compensated in a timely manner.
I am a "one-woman show". As a matter of ethics I do not "farm out" my Client's projects. I will personally work on each and every project, to make sure nothing "gets lost in Your translation".

Normally I do not bid on projects that list payment terms over 30 days from the date of consignment (the famous "steady cash flow"), but don't let this discourage you as I will consider collaborating with companies whose payment terms are 60-90 days if their track record shows they pay on time.

On bright side, I do offer a discount to repeat customers that pay within 14 calendar days from the date of consignment.
