THE EXHIBITION
Begin your journey by stepping back 1,000 years to ‘the day before humans arrived’. You will discover an extraordinary paradise that evolved in isolation for 80 million years, brought to life with state-of-the-art multimedia exhibits. Witness the devastating consequences of human settlement and the biggest extinction since the dinosaurs. Then learn about New Zealand’s conservation pioneers and our country’s most important sanctuaries and safe havens.
THE SANCTUARY VALLEY
Now you’re ready to pick up your map and head outside into the world’s first fully-fenced eco-sanctuary! Here, many of New Zealand’s most vulnerable birds, reptiles and insects are thriving in their natural environment. Keep an eye out for kaka, tuatara, saddleback and dozens more rare species. Just remember that our kiwi are sound asleep during the daytime, so for a chance of seeing them you’ll have to come back at night!
Before entering the valley you must check your bag for rodents and plant seed material.
ZEALANDIA BY NIGHT TOUR
Begin your tour with guided highlights of our fully immersive and interactive exhibition and find out how this safe haven was created. Your guide will lead you into the forest, where you will experience something incredible – evening birdsong that hasn’t been heard on the mainland for more than a century.
Along your journey, marvel at the displays of native glow worms, catch glimpses of the ancient tuatara and join the search for the iconic little spotted kiwi. Bookings are essential. Minimum age of 12 years on this tour.
Length 2 hours 30 minutes (approximately)
Departs Daily 30 minutes before sunset
Transport Available to and from the city
$15 return per person. Must be pre-booked.
Price Adults $75, Children (12-14 years) $35
Tours go rain or shine, please dress to the conditions. Wear sturdy footwear and come with plenty of layers and a waterproof jacket. Torches are supplied for the night tour. Bookings are essential.

L'AREA NATURALE PROTETTA
Ora siete pronti, armatevi di mappa e inoltratevi nella prima area naturale protetta al mondo che sia mai stata recintata! Qui molte delle specie di uccelli, rettili e insetti neozelandesi più vulnerabili prosperano all'interno del loro habitat naturale. Tenete gli occhi ben aperti per poter avvistare alcune specie di animali come il nestore (kaka), lo sfenodonte (tuatara), il sella rossa e tante altre specie rare. Ricordatevi, però, che i kiwi dormono profondamente di giorno e per poterli vedere dovrete tornare di notte!
All’ingresso del parco gli addetti controlleranno borse e zaini per assicurarsi che non vengano introdotti né semi di piante né roditori.
VISITA GUIDATA NOTTURNA DI ZEALANDIA
Iniziate la visita immergendovi nell'esposizione guidata interattiva prestando attenzione ai punti di particolare interesse per scoprire come è nata quest'area protetta. La vostra guida vi condurrà poi all'interno della foresta, in cui potrete ascoltare l’incredibile canto degli uccelli che non si sente sull’isola da oltre un secolo.
Durante la vostra visita potrete ammirare i vermi luminosi originari della Nuova Zelanda, intravedere gli antichi sfenodonti e andare alla ricerca del simbolico kiwi maculato minore. È obbligatoria la prenotazione. L'età minima per poter partecipare alla visita guidata notturna è 12 anni.

The Italian Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand Inc. Incorporated in 2000, ICCNZ promotes bilateral trade, provides information and support to companies in international trade, general consultations, referrals, import and export data, workshops, market research, trade fairs and trade delegations, interpreting, trade mark registration and litigation.
ICCNZ is built on the support of many who are passionate about New Zealand Italy connections - through personal, business and cultural interests - and our aim is to build and grow these connections through shared support and networks.

Gli eventi – durante l’arco dell’anno l’ICCNZ organizza numerosi eventi. Alcuni di questi eventi si basano sulla cultura e sulla tradizione, mentre altri hanno un carattere più commerciale.
I nostri soci operano in svariati settori industriali e chiunque abbia rapporti commerciali tra l’Italia e la Nuova Zelanda può diventare socio dell’ICCNZ.
La nostra missione
L’obiettivo principale della Camera di Commercio Italiana in Nuova Zelanda è di stimolare, favorire e appoggiare le opportunità commerciali e d’investimento tra l’Italia e la Nuova Zelanda, oltre a favorire la creazione di joint-venture e lo scambio di conoscenze fungendo da anello di congiunzione delle pratiche commerciali di entrambi i Paesi.
