Born in Belgium, I was raised in French and Dutch at home but received all my academic training in French, English and Spanish. At the end of secondary education, I spent one year in the Midwest (Chicago area) of the United States, attending classes in Lake Forest High School. Afterwards, I got my B. Sc. Degree in Biology from the Université Catholique de Louvain (Catholic University of Louvain) at Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium).

I next moved to Spain, where I arrived in February 1991, and embarked on a PhD in Biology at the Universidad de Salamanca (University of Salamanca). After this, I spent almost 10 years as an assistant lecturer at the School of Medicine of the same university, teaching Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

In 2000 I started making use of my abilities as a translator, translating patents for a couple of agencies both in Spain and abroad, mainly from English into Spanish or French. What started as a side activity became soon my main source of income, so I left teaching to dedicate fully to translating.

A couple of years ago, I began to extend my services to interpreting and improved my skills in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting attending the X Master in Conference Interpreting at the Spanish Institute CLUNY-ISEIT associated to the French private university Institut Catholique de Paris. I graduated in June 2009 for the triple combination English-Spanish-French. I also do interpret between these languages and Dutch, but only as a liaison interpreter.
