Nachdem ich an der Fachhochschule Karlsruhe mehrere Semester International Management studiert habe, um mein bereits auf einem Wirtschaftsgymnasium (Leistungsfächer BWL und Englisch) erworbenes Wissen noch zu vertiefen, habe ich beschlossen, mich voll und ganz dem Studium der Sprachen zu widmen.


Seit etwas mehr als drei Jahren sammle ich schon Erfahrungen als Übersetzer und teilweise auch als Begleitdolmetscher auf internationalen Messen u. a. in Frankfurt, Karlsruhe und Basel. Im Zuge dieser Tätigkeit hatte ich die Chance und das Glück mit vielen verschiedenen Nationalitäten zusammenzuarbeiten.

Was meine Übersetzerarbeit angeht, habe ich mich bisher hauptsächlich auf folgende Sprachenpaare konzentriert: Englisch, Französisch+Italienisch > Deutsch mit Bereichen wie Marketing, Webseiten und deren AGB’s, sowie auf die Übersetzung von Videospielen und deren Anleitungen. Da ich selbst begeisterter Sportler war, bzw. immer noch bin wenn ich die Zeit dazu finde, kenne ich mich auch in diversen Sportarten gut aus.
Mit der Übersetzung eines Online-Portals konnte ich auch schon Erfahrung im Bereich IT/Software sammeln.

Dennoch bin ich neuen Fachgebieten gegenüber natürlich immer offen, und da ich stets ausführliche Recherchen anstelle, stellt “unbekanntes Terrain” auch kein grosses Problem dar.

Nebenbei “verschlinge” ich Literatur aus vielen Bereichen und Sprachen, um immer auf dem Laufenden zu bleiben, wie man so schön sagt.

My name is Christian Vogel and German is my native language.

After having studied International Management at the University for Applied Sciences in Karlsruhe to engross the knowledge I already had gained at a Highschool with the emphasis on business studies, economics and law, I decided to devote myself totally to the languages.

For more than three years I am now gaining experiences as a translator and by chance as an escort interpreter on several international trade fairs (Franfurt, Karlsruhe and Basel).
In the course of this occupation I had the possibility to get into touch and to work with many different nationalities in various fields.

Within the context of my work as a translator I mainly focussed on topics like marketing, websites and their conditions of sale, but also on the translation of video games and their manuals. As I was an enthusiastic sportsman myself ( I am still if I manage to find the time!) I also know a lot about the sports scene.
With the translation of an internet platform I also gainde some experience in the field of IT/software.

But of course I remain open for new topics and as I always make extensive enquiries about the subject I am working on, new territories are no problem...

Besides I consume a lot of any literature in many languages, to keep me “up-to-date”.
