Moreover, financial soundness becomes a central point when the enterprise is being evaluated by the market. The advantage of corporate financial soundness is that it creates a virtuous cycle of increasing the potential for the smooth supply of funds, which in turn can effect further growth. An unhealthy financial base, on the other hand, would fuel a vicious spiral in the opposite direction. Thus, efficient financing for the enterprise has become an important issue.
From now on, because business enterprises will be closely scrutinized by the financial and capital markets, a proper understanding of the cost of capital will be indispensable in efficient financing (meaning, for example, a well-balanced portfolio of stocks, corporate bonds, and loans needed to secure the necessary minimum cash flow). It looks like that until now managers of Japanese enterprises didn’t fully recognize either the underdevelopment in market-stlye funding, nor did they realize the immense impact of nondisposable mutual holdings on corporate reserves. The cost of capital is defined as “the minimum profitability that a capial donor demands,” and it is necessary to clearly recognize that a company’s worth increases only after being able to acquire profits exceeding this. Otherwise, as in times like the present when we cannot expect to see any rise in rapid growth, it is difficult to draw up a clear strategy of growth for the entire economy.

如意輪観音は、六臂（ろっぴ）の金色身に表される。右第一手は頬にあて、衆生を救うための思惟（しゆい）をなす様を表す。第二手は胸前で、願いをかなえるという如意宝珠（にょいほうじゅ）を持つ。第三手は垂らして、苦を除くという念珠（ねんじゅ）を持つ。左第一手は下げて光明山（こうみょうせん）（補陀落山（ふだらくせん）ともいう、観音の住所）を圧さえ、山を安定させる。第二手は腹前で蓮華の茎を持ち、第三手は上げて指の先に仏の教えを象徴する法輪（ほうりん）を載せている。如意輪観音像として最も普通に見られる像容である。宝冠（ほうかん）や胸飾（きょうしょくprむなかざり）その他の装身具は金泥（きんでい）で彩られ、また着衣の各部分は諸色に塗り分けられた地色（ぢいろ）の上に、截金（きりかね）で種々の文様（もんよう）を施され、全身が輝きに満ちて華麗に装飾されて、金色（こんじき）の肉身（にくしん）と調和している。像はさらに、赤い蓮の花の上に坐り、胴体部と頭部に分かれた円相（えんそう）の光背によっても飾られている。
