About me

I have over twenty years working experience in business dealing with both languages on a daily basis - Portuguese and English - working in New York for the REDE GLOBO TV NETWORK and then with my own export company selling to affiliated stations of the network.
And for the past five years since moving to Brazil, have been making a living solely with TRANSLATION WORK.

I am a naturalized U.S. CITIZEN. Moved to Long Island, New York at a young age, so ENGLISH is almost my native language ( as well as Portuguese - spoken at home). As you can see from my CV, I have a Bachelor's degree in Economics with a minor in Business Administration from SUNY (State University of New York) at Stony Brook.

I have translated numerous service and operation manuals for electronic and broadcast equipment while working in the TV industry ( GLOBO and affiliated stations). Also have done many Legal Contracts having to do with Service Agreements and engineering and related to other businesses also. Also I have assisted in several projects - bids for Oil exploration companies. Living in Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais state, we have many mining companies headquartered here and also did a few projects for these companies. Have been involved in several Health Care projects, marketing surveys, business proposals, public tender, bids, tourist literature, Telecommunication material, construction/civil engineering, software localization, scientific papers, and so on.....

I can do both versions ( European and Brazilian). I am originally from Portugal, but have been working for Brazilian companies for many years and now living down here in Brazil for about 5 years.
It has been a wide range of subjects these past 5 years of full time translating.

I have also translated quite a number of technical material from SPANISH into ENGLISH.
