About me

Translation of all kinds of Brazilian legal and business documents (except patents and trademarks). Legislation, lawsuits, tax matters. Politics and current events. International development issues regarding Portuguese-speaking African countries. Also broad range of non-scientific subject matter. I limit my freelance work to Portuguese to English, although I am fully competent in Spanish to English

TRANSLATION EXPERIENCE:
30 years as translator of Portuguese and Spanish into English, including 14 years as a part-time staff translator at the U.S. Department of State; 3 years at a leading law firm in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Fulltime freelance since 1999.

I lived in Brazil for 8 years, in two four-year stays in different cities. I keep current on Brazilian legal and business issues by subscription to a leading Brazilian newsmagazine, contacts with colleagues in Brazil, and nearly-annual visits.

	X Why did the menu change? The updates to the menu were made to make the site easy and more intuitive for visitors. Obviously, like any change, this may take a few days to get used to. The dropdown menus have been divided into two-dimensional panels with similar items grouped together under headings. This eliminates scrolling for those with smaller screens, and also improves readability. More information on the changes... Where is the "My ProZ.com" menu? Mouseover your name at the top of the screen. Here you will find information about your account, your email settings, and more. The "My ProZ.com" menu was moved up here to simplify the main navigation, and to keep all of this type of information together. I cannot find something If you are having trouble finding something with the new menu, please submit a support request.
