WTS Translations is a small translation agency based in a suburb to Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A. We specialize in legal translations, as well as the fields of business & finance, medicine, the travel industry, and the translation of genealogical records. Our main linguistic focus is Spanish and the Scandinavian languages (Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and Icelandic) coupled with English; however, we also offer translations between English and many other major languages, including Dutch, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Hebrew, Arabic, Catalan, Bosnian, Czech, Serbian, Croatian, Greek, and others. We strive to ensure that your translation reads as if it were the original text, and we take pride in providing prompt and accurate service.
WTS Translations is owned and operated by Nikolaj D. Widenmann, a trilingual translator, interpreter, and writer. Nikolaj was raised in Denmark by a Danish mother and an American father. That environment equipped him with full-fledged bilingual capabilities (few people learn to speak with a New York accent in Copenhagen) and a natural adaptability to and an awareness of the intricacies of other cultures, a key element in the field of translating and interpreting. As an adult he acquired native level Spanish, a language he uses professionally, in the community, and in the home.
Nikolaj holds a BA in English from San Diego State University with a minor in Spanish and a Certificate in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English as a Second Language. He is a certified Spanish court interpreter (state and federal) with regular court interpreting assignments at hearings, trials, etc. He further maintain memberships with the American Translators Association (ATA) and the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT).
