About me
My translation experience started about 20 years ago when I worked for international company in the Czech Republic as a marketing manager. The next step in my carrier was marketing/sales position as KAB/Seating representative in the Czech Republic. To be able to introduce KAB (UK producer of seats for trucks, construction machines etc.) in Czech market I had to translate all relevant materials - brochures, certificates, web sites etc. All this experience was very useful in my next position as representative at Scania CR. Most technical materials, brochures, training materials and guides were in English which helped me to build strong technical vocabulary.
I moved to the UK in 2004 and one year later started to work as an interpreter for public services. I obtained Diploma in Public Service Interpreting - Law option as I successfully passed all elements of exam: Simultaneous interpreting from English to Czech and from Czech to English, written translation from English to Czech and from Czech to English and side translation from English to Czech and from Czech to English. I was than on maternity leave and later on I started to juggle my work with the care of my little son.
I translated technical documents and brochures, certificates, contracts, letters etc. Last 4 years I also worked as an interpreter for public services such Courts and Police. Interpreting is my passion and I just love it.
My biggest strength is my wide knowledge of Czech language especially in technical and law fields. I obtained Master's from Textile and Machinery University in Liberec (Czech Republic) and also postgraduate course in marketing. I have also very good knowledge of both cultures Czech and British as I have lived many years in Czech and I live now in the UK.
I like to study and it is quite easy for me to learn new skills or work with new software.
