Bio
I am a native English speaker living in the US. I have a Bachelor’s degree in French from the University of Wisconsin and have continued to pursue my French studies through courses, travel, and translating. I have traveled to different Francophone areas of the world in Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean, so I am familiar with different dialects. I also have received Advanced scores on the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages exams in English Writing and French Reading Proficiency.
After starting as a volunteer translator for organizations such as UN Volunteers in 2011, I quickly started working as a freelance translator for companies around the world. I completed a course through New York University in French to English Translation to transform my linguistic skills for this purpose. I continue to work with a variety of translation companies, specializing in legal contracts and international organizations. I have worked on large volume projects, as well as very tight deadlines. I can work nights and weekends, and communicate very promptly via email and skype. I ask questions when needed, and utilize various resources to develop the most appropriate translation. I currently mentor younger linguists looking to get into the field by offering advice on business practices, finding volunteer jobs, and offering feedback on assignments.
My rates are negotiable based on volume, consistency, etc. Please contact me for more details!
