About me
Dear Project Manager:

I’m an English-to-Russian freelance translator based in Los Angeles, California, and I would like to offer my services to your agency.

I understand/speak/write Russian fluently, and I’m able to render the message with the right idiomatic Russian words and expressions, adapted to specifically cater to my audience. I have two bachelor’s degrees in different areas of study, which have prepared me well for my professional endeavors. Before I launched my career as a freelance translator, I worked as a Russian editor for a business magazine. With this job, I wrote and edited many articles as a freelance writer and editor for Russian business people, doctors, scientists, artists and others in order to help them advance their careers and promote themselves. In addition to this experience, I’ve also worked as an accountant, a teacher, and a businesswoman.

After 1 year of professional translator training and volunteering for TUCIS, a humanitarian organization based in Moscow, I began working as a freelance translator, and now, after 5 years of intensive work, I’m proud to say I’ve translated numerous amounts of material for TUCIS, the UN, the World Bank, publishing houses, PhDs, students, engineers, business associates, doctors, entrepreneurs, writers, and many more individuals seeking professional help.

As for rates, I use a flexible approach, but the most often I charge $0.07-0.10/source word. When working with agencies, I'm willing to work for the average rate the agency pays to its translators. I usually translate up to 2400 words a day.

For more detailed information, please refer to my resume attached to this letter. I also invite you to visit my website at www.peredodchik-eng.jimdo.com (Russian version), www.perevod-eng.jimdo.com (English version), or my professional profile at http://www.translatorscafe.com/cafe/member189874.htm

Thank you for your time!

Yours sincerely,
Azhar Mussina
