About me

Preferred areas: literary (poetry and narrative), academic (all social sciences) entertainment, advertisement, travel, current events, historical materials.

Have lived in Cuba, France, the U.S. (Ohio, Michigan, Kansas, Louisiana, Florida) and Mexico. Have taught languages, literature, and social studies at all levels (last University post included 20th. World lit., literary criticism and theory, research methods, Latin American Lit at a Mexico City college). Taught French language and Lit. at Louisiana State University and helped students with their poetry publication in English before coming to live in Mexico twenty seven years ago. A true trilingual (Ph.D. in French), I have obtained my experience in translation quite naturally as part of my academic activity over the years and of my multiple interests, beside gaining practice in a variety of translation fields. Had legal background in Cuba (administrative and diplomatic law, also "filosofía y letras"). Have also worked in real-estate and construction business. Doctoral dissertation was on critical problems of surrealism.
