Bio
I am fully qualified with a BA in Modern Languages and Cultures from Durham University (2012) and a MA in Translation and Professional Language Skills from the University of Bath (2013).
I attended extra classes at the University of Bath on business, politics and law, which has given me good base of knowledge from which to work.
I have completed two translation internships. In 2013, I did a one-month internship at the Council of Europe, translating a mixture of economic, political and environmental documents, including meeting statements, agenda summaries for meetings and speech summaries from meetings. In 2011, I worked as intern for the French-based website 'Blue Marguerite' for a period of three months. This involved translating a variety of articles about art, handicrafts, DIY projects and cookery recipes from French to English. I also worked as a volunteer translator for Watching America between September 2013 and May 2014 translating articles about American current affairs (particularly about economical and political affairs) from French and Spanish to English.
Since beginning work as a freelance translator in September 2013, I have worked predominantly with legal texts (in particular, court reports). However, I have also gained experience in translating CV's, birth certificates, marriage certificates, graduation certificates, tourism material, product descriptions, statistical reports and banking texts.
