Bio

Formally trained in languages at several European universities,
including Master’s and PhD courses, Gemma has worked professionally as a
translator with Spanish, English, and Italian for 25 years. Her areas of
expertise focus on the translation of documents directly related to higher
education, including websites, research articles, international agreements and
papers for international conferences. She is a member of several translation
associations and some university groups in language quality and terminology, and
has co-authored some trilingual glossaries (English, Spanish and Catalan) on
specialised fields of higher education. Moreover, she has tutored translation
students for several years and has lectured several courses on writing tools
for EMI university lecturers. Additionally, she loves writing (has won some
prizes, including a first prize award in poetry), practicing a good number of
sports and her mind is always looking for
better and
smarter ways of doing things
