Hi! My name is Malin. Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile.

I'm 32 years old, I have a degree as a Swedish linguist, and I currently live in the Netherlands.

I work as a freelancer within most areas of the Swedish language market, with a major focus on translation of subtitles.

A majority of my work assignments and projects is translating subtitles. I absolutely love this type of work, and I mostly work with translating movies and TV series which are released on platforms such as Netflix, HBO, and Disney+, and I've translated 150+ movies/tv-episodes. I have gained experience in several different subtitling tools provided by my clients, and I'm a fast learner when it comes to meeting new tools. I also keep up to date with the standards of most platforms.

My educational background is a Bachelor's degree as a Swedish linguist and a documented C2-level English. To see all the university courses I've completed, please read my CV, as the list is extensive.

The education that qualified me as a linguist included courses such as translations to/from Swedish and English, copywriting, and inclusive Swedish grammar. The education lasted for three years at the University of Gävle, Sweden. I did the EF SET language proficiency test, which graded me C2 in English, or 8.5-9.0 by IELTS standards.  

My rates for subtitle translation is $6 per runtime minute and $1.20 for QC/proofreading per runtime minute.

I will not accept post-editing jobs, and I typically don't timecode or use anything else except the platform the client (you) provide access to.
