It is believed that in the Earth's history the climate has warmed and cooled many times. Although the term “Global Warming” can also refer to the natural phenomenon of the warming of the entire Earth's climate, the term is often used to refer to Global Warming from the second half of the 20th century onward that has been observed in recent years and is expected to continue 100 years into the future. This article explains Global Warming from the second half of the 20th century onward.
In addition to the rise in average atmospheric and oceanic temperatures, the issue of Global Warming includes various secondary issues that accompany the rise in temperature such as coastal erosion due to rising sea levels and changes in ecosystems. In light of the negative impact which Global Warming will have on the future of humanity and the environment, countermeasures have been created and are beginning to be implemented. At the same time, the costs of the countermeasures are seen as being exceedingly large and many international debates are occurring over the burden of the countermeasures and their political priority.
