About me
Emphasis is on medical and literary translations.

Experience in field includes medical and legal interpreting, working as Bilingual Health Communication Specialist in the area of Maternal and Child Health for the state of North Carolina. In October of 1996 I participated in "Training for Spanish/English Interpreters in Health & Human Service Settings", sponsored by the Interpreter Training Taskforce of North Carolina. I hold an MA in Hispanic Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1999) and have taught Spanish at the university level since 1997--I've also taught English and Spanish for Berlitz Language Schools. Additionally, in the past year I've worked for the Continuing Education dept. at my college teaching non-academic Spanish courses.

I've translated many medical documents, fiction/literature (which I adored) and general documents. I have done a lot of WIC brochures, which takes me back to my Maternal and Child Health background! Recently I translated a national exam for massage therapists.
