Dear Sir/Madam,
I have extensive experience in various forms of translating. I have written Swedish subtitles for English programmes as well as English subtitles for Swedish programmes. I have translated programmes for Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, E! Entertainment, ITV, BBC, Disney (UK and US channels), TV4, Kanal 5, TV6, Sjuan, TV8, Kanal 11 (Swedish Channels) and many more. That means I have experience writing subtitles for a variety of programme styles such as travel shows, docusoaps, children's TV, scripted dramas and documentaries.
I also translate and proofread documents to/from Swedish and English. Throughout the years, I have translated a wide variety of documents such as TV treatments for the Swedish & US markets, quality reports for ISO certifications and official documents for the City of Stockholm.
With my many years living in the US and the UK, I am as confident translating to/from AmE as BrE, and as comfortable working with formal as informal language.
I am a self-reliant person who is able to remain calm and polite under pressure, and I am used to thinking on my feet. Needless to say, I always meet deadlines, and I am accustomed to working with short turnaround times, yet I pride myself on being able to produce very high quality work.
I find that having worked both in the US & the UK have influenced me to become a polite go-getter. In addition, being a native Swede has made me a very grounded person. Aside from my work experience, I have a genuine interest in writing and have taken a number of script analysis and screenwriting courses.
Being a modern woman of today, I am of course tech savvy and computer literate, using both Mac and PC as well as all types of social media and apps.
Please review my CV for more information, and feel free to contact me with any questions or to request further information.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Best wishes,
Anna Hall |
