I always work with my partner, a native Japanese speaking electrical engineer residing in Japan, when doing English to Japanese work. I am able to work with a wide variety of electronic source material. I develop and customize tools and scripts that allow for the extraction of translatable material and subsequent reinsertion of the translated content. I am also able to work directly with databases and software source files and take meaning directly from the code to use in the translation process. Please contact me if you find yourself with unusual data files, translatable material spread over multiple documents and intermingled with material that doesn't need to be translated, or even software source files that need documentation created from scratch.

Pricing

My base rate is $0.20 / target English word. This typically works out to around $0.10 / source Japanese character. I am able to produce an estimate for fixed quantity jobs up front.
