Education:
BSc in Mathematics/Computer Science with minor in French.

Work experience:
Technical writer for the past 3 years. Freelance translator for the past 10 years.

Amharic:
Native speaker with more than 10 years of experience. Over the years, I have worked on translation projects that span a wide range of subjects. Some of my past projects have included procedural guidelines for a State Department of Education, disease fact sheets for a State Department of Health, long term project for the U.S. Department of State, company and labor union pamphlets and materials, government health insurance programs and language proficiency test creation.

French:
Attended a French total immersion school from early childhood to high school. 10 years experience translating various types of documents such as software user instructions, letters, business documents and more. Also, transcribed over 30 pages of French audio tape and over 2 hours of French video while working in the Languages Department at Western Washington University.

Pricing
Pricing is negotiable and depends on the nature of the document, length and time constraints. My Trados rates are as follows:

- New words and <74% = 100% (full rate)
- Fuzzy (75-99%) = 60% of full rate
- Repetitions (100%) = 30% of full rate
