Pro bono translation for humanitarian organization

Organizing a 20-member team (www.proZ.com/team/664) of French to English translators and proof-readers for long-term cooperation with the French humanitarian NGO Solidarités. High-profile lecture on light physics for wide audience

Translation of academician N. Kroó's lecture delivered at the ENCOMPASS (Mindentudás Egyeteme) into English. Lecture on the physics of light, aimed at the general public, nevertheless presenting highly technical notions - most notably, that of surface plasmons - in a deceptively easygoing way. Very interesting project, short deadline (< 48 hours).

Training, Consultancy.

I am an ATA-certified translator providing high-profile translations in various scientific and technical fields. I hold a PhD in theoretical particle physics and an MSc in scientific translation. With an in-depth knowledge of my specialty fields and my expertise in terminology, I am fully aware of the importance of the precise choice of words. My translations are pleasant-to-read and have a naturally polished style, not in the least because of my long-standing cooperation with several publishers.

I enjoy working in a team, and have the necessary skills to manage even large teams. I made good use of my communication skills as a ProZ.com moderator, conference speaker, and instructor.

I use various CAT tools, including Trados, Transit, Wordfast, Deja Vu, MetaTexis, and SDLX.
