Bio
Born and raised in the Netherlands, I have been active as a professional English to Dutch translator since 1992. Having worked at Aldus Corporation in Edinburgh (Scotland), translation agency LocalEyes in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), and Apple Inc. in Cupertino (USA), I bring more than 25 years of translation and localization experience to the table, including five years as manager in Apple’s in-house translation team. After all that fun, I decided it was time for a refreshing change and started working as a freelancer.
My area of expertise is IT, software localization, and transcreation, but I am also interested in applying my translation knowledge and experience in other areas.
A translation is good if no one notices it is a translation. It is the job of the translator to become invisible; to become a transparent medium to make the author shine in another language.
