About me

You’d like to know Gerardo Comino? Well, this is my story.

Translation is not something like changing words, translation is making other people understand, knowing the meaning but also the context and the concept which the original speaker wanted to transmit.

That’s part of the many things I learnt in my FOUR years Degree in Translation and Interpretation that I studied in the University of Granada. This may sound a little bit abstract to you so let’s explain it briefly!

This Degree consists of different levels of translation, from a general text like we see in a daily paper to mid-level technical, legal, financial, scientific texts. After that, the last years of studies, the student has to choose what he/she likes to be specialized in. I made my decision for TECHNICAL (includes automotive, mechanical, electrical, IT, software, hardware, etc.) and some MEDICAL (devices too) and FINANCIAL (also legal texts) or SCIENTIFIC.

We learnt theories of translation but also had the chance to study many technical, scientific and legal subjects which made us be familiar with those fields.

This is quite a reason to choose a translator with a TRANSLATION DEGREE, isn’t it?

Moreover when I have been NINE years translating for so many different clients from all around the world. This way, I can add what I learnt in the University to what I have acquired now.

My experience says that what a client really wants is a professional who knows what to do when dealing a text, whatever it is about. A professional you know is going to deliver when arranged. Somebody who is there when you need him/her, but also when after some time, you need him/her to check some comments or corrections and like to know his/her opinion.

I know what being a translator is, so, If you need a TRANSLATOR, just contact me!
