(1) 1Das Honorar für eine Übersetzung beträgt 1,25 Euro für jeweils angefangene 55 Anschläge des schriftlichen Textes. 2Ist die Übersetzung, insbesondere wegen der Verwendung von Fachausdrücken oder wegen schwerer Lesbarkeit des Textes, erheblich erschwert, erhöht sich das Honorar auf 1,85 Euro, bei außergewöhnlich schwierigen Texten auf 4 Euro. 3Maßgebend für die Anzahl der Anschläge ist der Text in der Zielsprache; werden jedoch nur in der Ausgangssprache lateinische Schriftzeichen verwendet, ist die Anzahl der Anschläge des Textes in der Ausgangssprache maßgebend. 4Wäre eine Zählung der Anschläge mit unverhältnismäßigem Aufwand verbunden, wird deren Anzahl unter Berücksichtigung der durchschnittlichen Anzahl der Anschläge je Zeile nach der Anzahl der Zeilen bestimmt.
(2) Für eine oder für mehrere Übersetzungen aufgrund desselben Auftrags beträgt das Honorar mindestens 15 Euro.
(3) Soweit die Leistung des Übersetzers in der Überprüfung von Schriftstücken oder Aufzeichnungen der Telekommunikation auf bestimmte Inhalte besteht, ohne dass er insoweit eine schriftliche Übersetzung anfertigen muss, erhält er ein Honorar wie ein Dolmetscher.
Translation - English Section 11 - Fee for translations
(1) The fee for a translation amounts to 1.25 euros for each 55 keystrokes or fraction thereof in the written text. If the translation is considerably more difficult, in particular due to the use of technical terms or due to poor legibility of the text, the fee increases to 1.85 euros; in the case of extraordinarily difficult texts it is 4 euros. The target language text is the standard for the number of keystrokes; if, however, Latin characters are used only in the source language, the number of keystrokes in the source language text is the standard. If counting the keystrokes is associated with excessive effort, their number is determined by taking into account the average number of keystrokes per line and counting the lines.
(2) For one or more translations which are part of the same order, the minimum fee is 15 euros.
(3) Insofar as the service of the translator consists of reviewing documents or telecommunication recordings for specific content without the need of preparing a written translation for these, the fee received will be that of an interpreter.

(1) Auch die in den §§ 5, 6 und 12 nicht besonders genannten baren Auslagen werden ersetzt, soweit sie notwendig sind. Dies gilt insbesondere für die Kosten notwendiger Vertretungen und notwendiger Begleitpersonen.
(2) Für die Anfertigung von Ablichtungen und Ausdrucken werden 0,50 Euro je Seite für die ersten 50 Seiten und 0,15 Euro für jede weitere Seite, für die Anfertigung von Farbkopien oder Farbausdrucken 2 Euro je Seite ersetzt. Translation - English Section 7 - Reimbursement for other expenditures

Unterstützung finden Vergärungsverfahren vor dem Hintergrund der zunehmenden Bedeutung regenerativer Energien für den Klima- und Ressourcenschutz (EEG, BiomasseV). Auch die hohen Anforderungen an die Begrenzung der Abluftemissionen aus der 30. BImschV bei der Behandlung von Restabfällen fördern die Vergärungstechnologie.
Die Effizienz der Vergärung wird maßgeblich von der Verfügbarkeit der anaerob abzubauenden organischen Substanzen beeinflusst. In der kommerziellen Anwendung können verschiedene Verfahrenskombinationen zur Aufbereitung der Abfallstoffe vor der Vergärung zur Anwendung kommen.

Over the past ten years, anaerobic technology has gained in importance for processing biological and residual wastes. In 2002 there were 58 plants in operation (oral information from ANS, 2003). The fermentation process finds support as a consequence of the increasing importance of regenerative energy sources for climate and resource protection (Renewable Energy Law, Biomass Ordinance). Even the high requirements for the limitation of emissions in the 30th Ordinance on Waste Incineration Plants support fermentation technology for treating residual wastes.
The efficiency of fermentation is significantly influenced by the availability of the substances for anaerobic metabolisation. In commercial application, various process combinations can come into play for preparation of the waste material prior to fermentation.

Vorgeschichte
Der Einsatz von Rate-Smoothing auf Einkammerebene soll am Fall eines 52jährigen Patienten mit belastungsabhängigem SA-Block und paroxysmalem atrialen Flattern/Flimmern sowie dadarch bedingten synkopischen Episoden demonstriert werden.
Der begeisterte Tennisspieler und Jogger klagte 1984 erstmalig über Dyspnoe und kurze Schwindelattacken während einer Belastung. Im Langzeit-EKG fand man untcr Belastung Episoden von paroxysmalem atrialen Flattern mit einem 2:1-Block, welches sofort nach Beenden der Aktivität in einen Sinus-Rhythmus konvertierte. 1n der Ergometric wurden normale Blutdruckwerte und initial eine chronotrope Suffizienz beobachtet. Allerdings trat bei hohen Belastungsstulen intermittierendes atriales Flattern auf.
Als die Inzidenz der Arrhythmie zunahm, wurde ein stabilcr Sinus-Rhythmus durch die Gabe von Digitalis und Verapamil erreicht. In den nächsten zwei Jahren fühlte sich der Patient wohl, und erkonnte seinen Sporttuten sowie seinen täglichen Aktivitäten ohne Einschränkung nachgehen.
Seit 1988 klagte der Palient erneut über Dyspnoe, Schwindel und zusätzlich über eine Reduktion seiner physischen Leistungskapazität.
In wiederholten Ergometrien fand man Sinus-Rhythinns und Normolonie bei maximaler Belastung. Im Langzeit-EKG jedoch konnten die beobachteten Vorhof-Arrhythmien wieder festgestellt werden. Die Durchuntersuchung ergab keinerlei Hinweis auf KHK, Vitium oder Kardiomyopathie. Da der Patient seine Medikation selbst abgesetzt hatte, wurde eine erneute Therapie mit sich einstellendem scheinbaren Erfolg anegsetzt.
Im Oktober 1989 erlitt dcr Patient zwei kurze Synkopen jeweils am Ende eines Tennisspicls. Im Langzeit-EKG wurden bradykarde Episoden (32/min) sowie intermittierendes atriales Flimmern mit Pausen bis zu 3 s beobachter. Die maximale Herzfrequenz stieg kurzfristig bis auf 170/min an. Während der Ergometrie waren Herzfrequenz und Blutdruck normal, aber in der Erholungsphase kam es plötzlich zum Abfall der Sinus-Frequenz von 140/min auf 40/min. Gleichzeitig wurde der Patient bleich und schwindlig, hatte jedoch keine Zeichen von Angina pectoris. Eine Digitalis-Intoxikation konnte ausgeschlossen werden (der Patient hatte erneut seine Medikation abgesetzt).

Case history
The application of rate smoothing at a single chamber level will be demonstrated with the case of a 52 year old patient with a stress-dependent sinoatrial block and paroxysmal atrial flutter or fibrillation as well as syncopal episodes resulting from these.
The avid tennis player and jogger complained for the first time in 1984 of dyspnea and brief dizzy spells while exercising. Long-term ECG results showed that during exertion episodes of paroxysmal atrial flutter with a 2:1 block occurred; these changed to a sinus rhythm immediately after cessation of the activity. In ergometric testing, normal blood pressure and at first chronotropic competence were observed. However, at higher levels of exertion intermittent atrial flutter occurred.
As the incidence of arrhythmia increased, a stable sinus rhythm was achieved by administering digitalis and Verapamil. In the two years after that, the patient felt well, and he could practice sports and pursue his daily activities without restrictions.
Since 1988 the patient complained again of dyspnea, dizziness and also a diminishing of his physical abilities.
Repeated ergometric testing showed sinus rhythms and normotonia at maximum exertion. In the long-term ECG, however, the previously noted atrial arrythmias were found once again. A thorough examination showed no sign of coronary heart disease, cardiac abnormality or cardiomyopathy. As the patient had chosen to discontinue his medication, the treatment was resumed with apparent success.
In October 1989 the patient suffered two brief syncopal episodes, both at the end of a tennis match. The long-term ECG showed bradycardic episodes (32 beats/min) as well as intermittent atrial flutter with pauses up to 3 seconds. The maximum heart rate rose briefly to 170 beats/min. During ergometric testing the heart rate and blood pressure were normal, but during the recovery phase the sinus rate suddenly dropped from 140 beats/min to 40 beats/min. At the same time the patient became pale and dizzy, but showed no sign of angina pectoris. This could not be attributed to digitalis intoxication, as the patient had once again discontinued his medication.

Source text - German Bronzezeit - Österreichische Siedlungen als Handelzentrum
Weltoffenheit und Wohlstand - das repräsentierten österreichische Siedlungen des Donauraumes in der Bronzezeit. Dies belegen neue Untersuchungen von ForscherInnen der Prähistorischen Kommission der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften. Im Mittelpunkt des vom Wissenschaftsfonds FWF geförderten Projektes stand die Analyse von Fundmaterial aus Grabungen am Oberleiserberg in Niederösterreich. Dabei entdeckten die WissenschafterInnen Spuren eines regen Handels und Relikte einer einstmals blühenden Handwerkskultur.
Der Grabungsort Oberleiserberg ist eine der markantesten Erhebungen in Niederösterreich. Dort wurde mit sieben Hektar Fläche eine der größten befestigten Siedlungsflächen der Bronzezeit (2300 - 800 v. Chr.) in Zentraleuropa freigelegt. Die seit 1976 durchgeführten Grabungen liefern ein reichhaltiges Spektrum an Funden aus der Bronzezeit, der Spätlatènezeit, der Spätantike und der Zeit der Völkerwanderung.

Die Auswertung der Fundstücke aus dieser Zeit belegt, dass die geschützte Situation auf dem Berg und die verkehrsgünstige Lage ein Aufblühen der damaligen Siedlung erlaubte. "Bei den Ausgrabungen wurden z.B. zahlreiche Gebrauchsgegenstände für die Textilherstellung, wie Webgewichte und Spinnwirtel, entdeckt. Das lässt auf ein reges handwerkliches und handelspolitisches Leben schließen, mit dem Wohlstand einherging. Diesen belegen auch bronzene Gewandnadeln mit aufwendig gestalten Nadelköpfen in Vasenkopf- oder Spindelform, die als Kleidungsschmuck Verwendung fanden," erläutert Dr. Lochner. Hergestellt wurden diese Objekte in Gussformen aus Stein oder Ton, die gemeinsam mit Herd- beziehungsweise Ofenplatten bis heute erhalten geblieben sind. Auch die Keramiken des Oberleiserberges belegen die hohe handwerkliche Entwicklung. Bemerkenswert sind dabei sehr dünnwandige Schalen, die innen reich mit neuartigen Linien-, Rhomben- und Kreisdekor verziert wurden.
Die Analyse und Auswertung des Fundmaterials geben neue Einblicke in die bronzezeitlichen Siedlungsverhältnisse im Donauraum. Der Oberleiserberg war in der Bronzezeit eine Hochburg der Kultur und förderte den Austausch von Kreativität und Innovation - ein Ziel, ganz im Sinne des FWF.

Cosmopolitan and prosperous - these words can describe Austrian settlements of the Danube region in the Bronze Age. This is shown by new investigations by researchers of the Prehistoric Commission of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. The focus of the project sponsored by the Austrian Research Fund (FWF) was the analysis of finds from excavations at the Oberleiserberg in Lower Austria. Scientists discovered traces of lively commercial trade and relics of a once thriving culture of handicrafts.
The excavation site Oberleiserberg is one of the most prominent elevations in Lower Austria. There, in an excavation area of seven hectares, one of the largest fortified settlement areas of the Bronze Age (2300 to 800 BCE) in Central Europe was uncovered. The excavations which have been carried out since 1976 have yielded a rich spectrum of finds from the Bronze Age, the late La Tène period, the Late Roman Empire and the Migration Period.

The evaluation of the finds from this period shows that the protected position on the hilltop and the favorable commerce situation enabled the settlement of the time to prosper. "As an example, numerous utility objects for textile manufacture, such as loom weights and spindle whorls, were discovered during the excavations. This gives evidence of vigorous craft and commercial activity, accompanied by prosperity. This is also supported by bronze cloak pins, with complex vase or spindle designs on their heads, which were used as clothing adornment," explained Dr. Lochner. The objects were manufactured in casting molds made of stone or clay, which together with hearth or oven plates, have been preserved to this day. The ceramics from the Oberleiserberg also show the advanced state of crafts development. Particularly notable in this regard are the thin-walled bowls, richly decorated with unique linear, rhombic and circular patterns.
The analysis and evaluation of the materials found gave new insights into the conditions of Bronze Age settlements in the Danube region. Oberleiserberg was a stronghold of culture during the Bronze Age and promoted the exchange of creative ideas and innovations - a goal much in tune with those of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF).

I am a native speaker of American English, long resident in Germany, with a degree in chemistry from Occidental College in Los Angeles as well as several years of graduate work in the field and experience in adhesive formulation using statistical optimization methodologies, polymer chemistry (including silicones), medical device development, FDA regulatory approval, educational software development, database design and IT consulting for DMS, archiving and web-based ASP applications. For about 20 years I translated German<->English in support of academic, research or consulting activities until I moved to Germany and discovered while working as an IT consultant the difficulty of obtaining high-quality, timely translations for my clientele. I began to fill that gap myself and soon found that I enjoyed the role of communication facilitator with translation more than my official duties as a consultant and developer. After convincing the aliens authority in Germany to allow me to work independently (a process that took several years), I became a full-time freelance translator.
