Although my primary work has never been translation, my translations are better and less expensive than those available through agencies and from most freelance translators. I am currently pursuing a second degree at Oxford University and need to supplement my earnings -- hence I wish to do translation work. My first degree is from Princeton University in Economics and Russian Studies/Slavic Languages. I have worked as a strategy consultant in the financial services industry in the US/UK/Russia and have founded a charity in Russia (the Russian Orphan Opportunity Fund -- see www.roofnet.org) which I ran for three years before coming to pursue my second degree at Oxford. I am an American, native English speaker with completely fluent Russian and have been doing Russian to English translation work for 10 years. Any freelance jobs would be appreciated.
While I was working for DialogBank in Russia I wrote portions of and translated thier 'Market Daily' each evening while working on the trading floor during the day.
I also have have experience with: legal translation, translation for companies in the oil and gas industory, philosophical and theological translations, charity grant proposals (which I both wrote and translated), computer softward manuals, newspaper articles of all sorts, and marketing and advertising material. |
