1. Introduksi
Dalam bidang industri radiasi pengion dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan mutu suatu produk karena radiasi pengion dapat mengubah sifat fisika,kimia dan biologi dari benda yang diiradiasi. Radiasi pengion antara lain dimanfaatkan untuk sterilisasi produk kesehatan [1], menghambat pertunasan, disinfestasi serangga dan patogen,memperpanjang, waktu simpan, dan sterilisasi pada bahan makanan dan produk pertanian [2], modifikasi material dengan polimerisasi [3][4].
Dosis serap memegang peranan penting dalam proses irradiasi, sehingga sangat penting melakukan monitoring dosis dalam proses irradiasi [5]. Dosis adalah energi yang diserap per unit massa [6]. Ada berbagai tipe alat untuk mengukur dosis yaitu : calorimeter, kristal organik, diamond, semikonduktor, kristal inorganik, larutan kimia, film radiochromic, sistem flourescent [7].
Label film radiochromic terdiri dari 2 bagian yaitu zat warna dan matrik. Beberapa penelitian telah melaporkan penggunaan beberapa zat warna sebagai indikator radiasi yaitu leuco briliant blue cyanide [8], calcein [9], leuco crystal violet [10] dan leucomalachite green [11]. Matrik merupakan bahan yang digunakan untuk meng-immobilisasi zat warna. Beberapa bahan yang telah digunakan sebagai matrik antara lain : PVA [9], PVB[10], larutan [12], gel [13].
Pada penelitian ini dilaporkan preparasi label film radiochromic yang terbuat dari ekstrak daun Taraxacum officinale(TO) yang diimmobilisasi dengan matrik chitosan. Ekstrak taraxacum officinale merupakan pewarna alami yang biodegradable dan tidak beracun dan kitosan merupakan copolimer yang didapatkan dari proses diasitelin chitin, yang mempunyai sifat tidak beracun,biodegradable, serta memiliki fasilitas dan kapasitas untuk membentuk film[14].

1. Introduction
In the industrial field, ionizing radiation is used to improve the quality of a product because it can change the physical, chemical and biological properties of irradiated objects. Ionizing radiation is used for the sterilization of health products [1], inhibits budding, insects and pathogens disinfestation, prolongs shelf life, and sterilization of foodstuffs and agricultural products [2], material modification by polymerization [3][4].
The absorption dose plays an important role in the irradiation process, so it is very essential for monitoring [5]. Dosage is the energy absorbed per unit mass [6]. There are various types of dosing tools such as calorimeters, organic crystals, diamonds, semiconductors, inorganic crystals, chemical solutions, radiochromic films, and flourescent systems [7].
Radiochromic film label consists of two parts: dye and matrix. Several studies have reported the use of some dyes as a radiation indicator like leuco briliant blue cyanide [8], calcein [9], leuco crystal violet [10] and leucomalachite green [11]. Matrix is the material used to immobilize the dyes. Some of the ingredients that have been used as a matrix, including PVA [9], PVB [10], solution [12], gel [13].
This study reported the preparation of a radiochromic film label made from Taraxacum officinale (TO) leaf extract immobilized with chitosan matrix. Taraxacum officinale extract is a biodegradable and non-toxic natural dye. Chitosan is a copolymer derived from diacetylene chitin process, which is also biodegradable and non-toxic, and has the facility and capacity to form a film [14].
