All travel is now merely a means of moving a camera from place to place, all travellers are ruled by the all-powerful lens. Visitors old-fashioned enough to wish only to stand and look with their anachronistic eyes are shoved aside by the photographers, who take it for granted that while they do their ritual focusing, nothing else may move or cross their vision. Those peculiar souls without a camera must step aside for those more properly occupied, must wait while the rituals take place, and must bide their time while whole coaches stop and unleash upon the landscape the Instamatic God. And the populations of whole countries seeing themselves cannibalised, swallowed up, vacuumed into the black-ringed staring eye, wrench what they can from the cannibals. You want picture my house, my camel? You pay.
None of this would matter, perhaps, if anything worthwhile was being accomplished. If all the constant busyness and clicking produced, at its end, what had not existed before, images of beauty captured or truth told. But, sadly, this isn't so. The camera is simply graffiti made respectable.
The camera is the means by which we stamp ourselves on everything we see, under cover of recording the Wonders of the World already wonderfully
recorded by professionals and on sale at every corner bookshop and newsagent. But what use to show Aunt Maud, back home, postcards of the Tuscan landscape, since we are not in the picture to prove that we were there?
No stretch of rocks has verity unless I am within it. No monument exists
but for my wife, leaning against it. No temple is of interest without my face beside it, grinning. With my camera I appropriate everything beautiful, possess it, shrink it, domesticate it, and reproduce it on my blank sitting-room wall to prove to a selected audience of friends and family the one absolutely vital fact about these beauties: I saw them, I was there, I photographed them, and, ergo, they are.

אולי דבר מכל זה לה היה משנה אילו משהו בעל ערך היה מושג. אילו כל ההתעסקות והלחיצות היו מביאים בסופו של דבר להיווצרות משהו שלא היה קיים קודם לכן, תמונות של יופי שהונצח או אמת שסופרה. אך למרבה הצער, אין זה כך. המצלמה היא פשוט גרסה מכובדת של הגרפיטי.

How To...Create EPS Files
You can produce a single-page EPS (Encapsulated PostScript) file created in one application and insert it into a document in another application. The contents of the page can include any combination of text, graphics, and images.
It is generally best to use a software application to create EPS files. When this is not possible, you can set up the printer driver to create EPS files. The EPS files created by the driver, however, do not include on-screen preview images. Instead, they appear as blank spaces, black boxes, or boxes with Xs, which are placeholders for the image. When printed, the EPS image will appear on the page as expected.
Not all applications can place EPS files in their documents, so be sure to check to see if the application supports Encapsulated PostScript files.

מטרת העבודה הנוכחית הינה לבחון את הביטויים הקוגניטיביים של מודעות עצמית רב-גורמית (Multifactorial Self-Consciousness). מודעות עצמית (Self-Consciousness) מתייחסת לנטייה למיקוד הקשב בעצמי ומהווה ציר חשוב בתיווך התנהגויות ותהליכים רגשיים וקוגניטיביים. מושג המודעות העצמית זכה להתייחסויות תיאורטיות ואמפיריות רבות, ועבר שינויים מושגיים - החל בהתייחסות למודעות עצמית מצבית, דרך הגדרתו כנטיה אישיותית גלובלית למיקוד קשב בעצמי והמשגתו כדו-גורמי המכיל גורם פרטי וגורם ציבורי, ועד להגדרתו העדכנית כנטייה אישיותית למיקוד קשב מובחן לתכנים נפרדים בעצמי.
אחד המוקדים המרכזיים בחקר העצמי עוסק בהשפעתם של תהליכים בעצמי על תפקודים קוגניטיביים. מחקרים שנערכו עד כה התבססו על ההנחה שמודעות עצמית גבוהה מגבירה את בולטותם של תכני העצמי ועל כן מקילה על תהליכי עיבוד מידע רלוונטי לעצמי, ובחנו את הביטויים הקוגניטיביים הישירים של מודעות-עצמית חד-גורמית או דו-גורמית על עיבוד מידע עצמי באמצעות פרדיגמות שונות של זכרון ושיפוט רלוונטי לעצמי. יחד עם זאת, למרות שעדויות אמפיריות ותיאורטיות רבות הגבירו את חשיבות המשגתה של מודעות-עצמית כמושג מורכב ורב-תכנים, לא נבדקו עדיין ההשפעות הקוגניטיביות של מודעות-עצמית רב-גורמית.

The aim of this work is to examine the cognitive expressions of multifactorial self-consciousness. The term self-consciousness refers to the tendency to focus the attention on the self, and it constitutes an important pivot to mediation of emotional and cognitive behaviours and processes. The concept of self-consciousness has been vastly dealt with both theoretically and empirically, and has undergone conceptual transformations – starting with the reference to situational self-consciousness, through its definition as a global personality tendency for focusing attention on the self and its construction as a bi-factor that includes a private factor and a public factor, and finally to its up-to-date definition as a personality tendency for focusing distinct attention to separate contents in the self.
One of the main focuses of research of the self deals with the impact processes of the self have on cognitive functions. Past research has been based on the premise that high self-consciousness increases the prominence of the self contents, and thus facilitates the information processing processes that are relevant to the self. The direct cognitive expression of uni-factorial or bi-factorial self-consciousness on the processing of self information were investigated by means of various memory and relevant self judgement paradigms. Notwithstanding, although much empirical and theoretical evidence increased the importance of the conceptualisation of self-consciousness as a complex and multi-contents concept, the cognitive impact of multifactorial self-consciousness have not yet been investigated.
