Presentation
Wordfast is a Computer-Aided Translation (CAT) program designed as a Microsoft Word™ add-on.
Its primary purpose is to help translate Ms-Word documents (the DOC format), although it can be used with PowerPoint™ and Excel™ documents, as well as tagged files, a format often used in the localization industry.
Wordfast combines two technologies:
segmentation and Translation Memory (TM).

O Wordfast é um programa de tradução auxiliado por computador (CAT – Computer-Aided Translation) projetado como suplemento do Microsoft Word™.
Sua finalidade primária é ajudar a traduzir documentos no Ms-Word (o formato DOC), apesar de que também pode ser usado com documentos do PowerPoint™ e do Excel™, bem como com arquivos com tas, formato usado freqüentemente no setor de localização.
O Wordfast combina duas tecnologias:
