Background :
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (Econometrics) obtained from the University of New South Wales.
I have worked as an official translator for the Australian government for more than 20 years. Have translated several official documents aiming at providing information on settlement and migration issues to migrants. Major projects varied in length and complexities. These included "Information for Migrants in New South Wales" - 40 page-booklet, and "Marrying and Migrating" - 12,000 words, "Reconciliation Document" - 2,500 words, "Translation for The Attorney-General's Department" - 4,000 words. I have translated other documents with various topics as required by the clients from legal contracts, medical reports, health surveys, and documents of personal nature.
Besides, I work as a contract translator for other government and private agencies in Australia where I translate documents of varied topics and complexities. I also was on the panel with the University of New South Wales where I conducted tests for teachers of Arabic.

I have also completed a number of jobs on the Internet: one for an Australian Government Authority translating "information package on computing and the Internet" - approx 9,000 words. And the other for a group in the UK translating an "information package" - approx 3,000 words.
I have also completed two cultural surveys for a translation agency in New York, USA.
One of the major projects I worked on wasa project for the UN (Global Movement for Children-GMFC), namely the translation of GMFC website into Arabic, total number of words 6500.

Personal Strengths:
I consider translation to be a hobby rather than a job, I take pride in my work, and I observe punctuality and pay extreme attention to details.

The "My ProZ.com" menu was moved up here to simplify the main navigation, and to keep all of this type of information together.
