| Translation - English Set well away from the frenzied atmosphere of the nearby towns, this is a wide valley, sparsely populated and easy to reach, an area of lush green countryside.
For three thousand years, Man has taken advantage of all that generous Mother Nature has had to offer here. There used to be four Roman towns on the banks of this quietly flowing river, over a distance of 8 km. Now they have become villages again.
Symptoms of BMD include a partial lack of dystrophin and/or dystrophin of poor quality, with later onset and slower progression than with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a disease in which there is a total lack of dystrophin (1). BMD may be revealed by cardiomyopathy. We describe a case diagnosed in a 57-year-old patient, three years after a diagnosis of primary dilated cardiomyopathy. Peripheral muscle weakness became symptomatic with lipid-lowering drugs (statin then fibrate). |
