La DMB se caractérise par un déficit partiel en dystrophine et/ou par des anomalies qualitatives, avec un début plus tardif et une progression plus lente qu’au cours de la myopathie de Duchenne, maladie dans lequel le déficit en dystrophine est total (1). La DMB peut être révélée par une cardiomyopathie. Nous en rapportons un cas diagnostiqué à 57 ans, trois ans après un diagnostic de cardiomyopathie dilatée « primitive », et dont l’atteinte musculaire périphérique est devenue symptomatique à la faveur des traitements hypolipémiants (statine puis fibrate) | Translation - English
Mutations in the dystrophin gene located in Xp21 may be responsible for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Becker muscular dystrophy (BMD). Symptoms of BMD include a partial lack of dystrophin and/or dystrophin of poor quality, with later onset and slower progression than with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a disease in which there is a total lack of dystrophin (1). BMD may be revealed by cardiomyopathy. We describe a case diagnosed in a 57-year-old patient, three years after a diagnosis of primary dilated cardiomyopathy. Peripheral muscle weakness became symptomatic with lipid-lowering drugs (statin then fibrate). |
