About me

Construction and engineering - dams, roads, tunnels, bridges, etc.

Thoroughly immodest, crap translator charging exorbitant rates for work that is of no use to anyone and inevitably arrives about 3 weeks after the due date. Just a clown in this circus.

MA (Hons) (Cantuar.). Translating since 1982, full-time freelance translator since 1989. Native English speaker, resident in France since 1980.

Re. KudoZ points: Possibly a more telling indicator than sheer numbers of points would be the ratio of KudoZ points to the potential total number of points that could have been awarded (i.e. number of questions answered times 4). In my case, at the end of Jan. 2005 that ratio was a pitiful 38% ! By early 2007 it had climbed to 42%.

And now (22.08.07), depending on whether the number of "questions answered" given here is for PRO questions or non-PRO (not clear), the ratio is either 44 or 48%. Am I getting smarter or more persuasive, being more selective in the questions I answer, is there less competition, or are people being swayed by the number of points I have ... ?
