TB (tuberculosis) is an infectious disease that usually affects the lungs, although it can affect almost any part of the body.
About 150 years ago, it caused about one in eight of all deaths in the UK. But by the 1980s, through a combination of better housing and nutrition, the early detection and isolation of cases, and effective treatments it had become uncommon in this country.
However, TB had not been wiped out completely. In fact, TB is one of the major infectious disease problems the world faces today. Last year, more deaths occurred from TB than at any time in history – approximately 8,000 per day.
Over the last 20 years, TB has been slowly increasing in the UK. About 7,000 cases are now newly diagnosed each year – just over one person in every 10,000 of the population.

Everybody wants to make
a good impression.
And I was making mine on....
Ted?
Ted? Whatever.
I know, not exactly
"Most Likely to Succeed"...
...but it's not like I had
a law degree to brag about...
...or a Rittenhouse Square apartment or a fancy job.
-Or a job, period.
-Man.
Is that it?
Yes, baby, that's--
That's it.
There are women, thinner women,
who have lace bras, silk thongs...
...things designed to excite a man.
A thong would look ridiculous on me.
I wear cotton briefs.
My life is about working long hours,
planning trips I never take...
...and settling for love found
on the pages of romance novels.

Każdy chce zrobić dobre wrażenie.
A ja robiłam je na...
Tedzie?
Tedzie? Jakoś tak.
Wiem, niezupełnie
„Zdatna odnieść sukces”.
Nie mam tytułu magistra prawa,
by się przechwalać,
czy luksusowego apartamentu
na Rittenhouse Square lub super pracy.
- W ogóle nie mam pracy.
- Rety.
I to wszystko?
Tak, złotko, to...
To wszystko.
Szczuplejsze kobiety
noszą koronkowe biustonosze, stringi,
rzeczy zaprojektowane,
by podniecić mężczyznę.
W stringach wyglądałabym śmiesznie.
Ja noszę bawełniane figi.
Moje życie to ciągła praca, planowanie
podróży, w które się nie wybieram
i zadawalanie się miłością
znalezioną na kartkach romansów.
