I am a native Chinese Mandarin speaker, educated in China to college level and qualified as an English teacher. While in China I worked as an in-house translator/interpreter (English < Chinese) in a German electronics company and a tour guide. In 1995 I moved to the UK and travelled extensively in the country.
While in the UK,I have gained a BA(Hons) in Social Policy and Administration and a Master's degree in Chinese Business. Forty credits of my masters course were made up of translation and interpreting. I also hold a Diploma In Translation (DipTrans) issued by the Institute of the Linguists (IOL) and I am a full member of the IOL. Since 2003 I have been on the National Public Services Interpreter Register (NRPSI)and have been undertaking interpreting/translation work for the police, courts, the Home Office, immigration service, solicitors, the social services, and commercial companies.
I write very well in Chinese and have had short stories published in newspapers in the UK.
I am very enthusiastic about translation and interpreting. My specialities are literature, business, social administration, law. I have managed to achieve the maximum accuracy in all the translation work undertaken. |
