Full-time translator, translation editor and interpreter with 20 years experience in general, technical, legal, business, marketing, biomed and literary translation. Additional skills in legal and telecommunications fields; excellent writing skills in English and Italian. State Department Translator English to Italian and Italian to English. I am also a simultaneous conference interpreter, court interpreter and work for the State Department as Conference and Consecutive interpreter. Teleinterpretation for business and law firms. I have also done a lot of training of technicians for businesses such as telecommunications and for government.
As an interpreter, I have considerable experience as a court interpreter and have done a lot of discovery work for a number of law firms.
As a translator, I have done a number of patents and support materials.
I have done quite a lot of voice-over work for C-Span, York,MIDI, SMITH and other private companies requiring a variety of video and voice training materials.
I am also a translator and consultant for publishing companies and have translated interview materials and book excerpts for business, legal and advertising uses.
I translate from English, French and Latin into Italian and from Italian into English. My strength is in the ability to research information and to match the style of the original document without compromising the integrity of the translation. I own many CD/ROM and bound specialized dictionaries and encyclopedias (thousands of books in English and Italian) and have been compiling glossaries for year.

I am a former professor of Italian, French and Latin. Last teaching assignment at the University of Maryland at College Park.
I have published a book on the Italian poet Camillo Sbarbaro, whose poetry and prose I have translated, and a number of articles on various topics of Italian literature and translation. Other, major translation assignments include a 5 volume 18th century history of the Order of Jerusalem, a variety of articles from English to Italian and from Italian to English and a number of poets. Most recently I have translated excerpts from the works of John Cornwell (into Italian), Stefano Marcelli and Dacia Maraini (into English)).
